Overview

This article addresses the issue where a Serv-U SFTP connection fails when using the SFTP key and password.

Environment

Serv-U 15.1.0

Cause

The system was configured to use the password and public key connection but the certificate and key were locally created and do not use a client-generated public key.

Resolution

  1. Go to to Domain > Limits and Settings > Limits.
  2. Select Password from the menu.
  3. Select SSH Authentication Type and click Edit.
  4. Create SSH authentication type Password only.
