Overview

This article provides the SolarWinds Serv-U version 15.1.3 HotFix 1. 

This SolarWinds fix repairs an issue with LDAP authentication which occurs when a suffix is specified in the LDAP configuration settings.

Environment

Serv-U version 15.1.3 only

Steps

 This fix requires updating only Serv-U. Within the Serv-U folder there is a folder for each supported platform. Please use the files for your appropriate platform when updating Serv-U. The folder contains files with the appropriate directory structure (if necessary) to upgrade your installation.

TO INSTALL THIS FIX:

1. Shut down all running Serv-U processes.

a. Right-click the tray icon, and then select "Stop Serv-U".

b. Right-click the tray icon, and then select "Exit Tray".

2. Create a backup copy of the following file:
    Windows:
    Serv-U-InstallDir>\Serv-U.dll

    Linux:
       Serv-U-InstallDir>\Serv-U

3. Extract the ZIP file to a temporary location.
4. Open the folder for the platform Serv-U is installed on.
    For example, open the Windows 64-bit folder if Serv-U is installed on a 64-bit version of Windows.
5. Copy the contents of this folder to your Serv-U installation directory. 
    For Windows, the default installation directory is:
        C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft\Serv-U
         OR
        C:\Program Files\RhinoSoft.com\Serv-U
    For Linux, the default installation directory is:
        /usr/local/Serv-U
6. On Linux, modify the permissions of the files by executing the following command:
        chmod u+xs Serv-U
7. Restart the Serv-U tray application.
8. Right-click the tray icon, and then select Start Serv-U.

 

After applying the fix, the LDAP authentication issue should no longer occur.

 

TO UNINSTALL THIS FIX:

1. Shut down all running Serv-U processes.

a. Right-click the tray icon, and then select "Stop Serv-U".

b. Right-click the tray icon, and then select "Exit Tray".

2. Replace the following file with your backed up copy:
    Windows:
        Serv-U-InstallDir>\Serv-U.dll
    Linux:
        Serv-U-InstallDir>\Serv-U
3. Restart the Serv-U tray application.
4. Right-click the tray icon, and then select Start Serv-U.
