Recover Password button not working for LDAP users in Serv-U

Table of contents

Updated November 2, 2018

This article details an issue in which the Allow Users to Recover Password permission is enabled, however, Recover Password in the web client is not working for LDAP users.

  • Serv-U version 15.x

Serv-U does not have the capability to recover password for LDAP users. If you attempt to configure the LDAP group, under Limit & Settings > Password, there is no item for "Allow users to recover passwords".

This option can only be configured at the domain level and only applies to users that are local to Serv-U.

To disable password recovery for local users:

  1. Go to Domain Limits & Settings.
  2. In the Limits dropdown menu, select Password.
  3. Set "Allow users to recover passwords" to No.
