Security Error on WebClient

Table of contents

Updated September 1st, 2016

Overview

The Serv-U HTTP/HTTPS services stop running, with users receiving a "Security Warning" when logging on to the service.

Cause

The Serv-U application files have been modified in an unauthorized fashion, causing instability in the HTTP/HTTPS service. To ensure the security of the server, the HTTP/HTTPS service has shut down.

Solution

This can be resolved by reinstalling Serv-U, replacing the modified files with the secure original versions.
