MFMT FTP command

Updated May 9, 2017

Overview

This article describes the use of the Modify Fact: Modification Time (MFMT) FTP command.

Environment

All Serv-U versions

Detail

The MFMT command is used to modify a file or folder's last modified date and time information. MFMT duplicates similar functionality implemented by the MDTM command.

Traditionally, when a file or folder is uploaded to an FTP server, the last modified date and time of the file or folder is set to the transfer date and time. Using MFMT, FTP clients can inform supporting FTP servers of the proper last modified date and time to use for the file or folder. The format of the command is MFMT YYYYMMDDHHMMSS path, where:

  • YYYY - the 4-digit year
  • MM - the 2-digit month
  • DD - the 2-digit day of the month
  • HH - the hour in 24-hour format
  • MM - the minute
  • SS - the seconds

All times are represented in GMT/UTC.
