This article provides brief information and steps to resolve the issue when upgrading from older versions of Serv-U (pre V15.0) with database users configured there maybe an issue that the new database tables are not created. If this occurs then users that use SFTP keys will not be able to log in to Serv-U.

Serv-U version 15.0 or earlier

The issue is caused when the following checkboxes are not selected in the Database settings:

  • Automatically create required tables
  • Automatically create required columns

The additional tables for the SFTP keys are not created.

  • If the checkboxes are not selected prior to the upgrade then they should be checked and the Serv-U system should be restarted in order to create the tables.
  • Alternatively ensure that these checkboxes are selected before running the upgrade.
  • Re-running the installation with these checkboxes checked will also resolve the issue.

PLEASE NOTE: This issue has been resolved in version released December 29, 2015
