SSH Protocol Error: Invalid state for the command

Overview

This error usually happens in CoreFTP if "Use Putty compatible SFTP" is not selected.

Environment

  • Serv-U MFT 15+
  • CoreFTP

Steps

1. Check the FTP client configuration to verify if the correct protocol is set for SFTP.

2. If this is CoreFTP, navigate to advanced settings > SSH.

3. Check the box "Use Putty compatible SFTP".

4. Reconnect to SFTP.
