This article provides information on Size (SIZE) FTP command.

Detail

The SIZE command is issued to retrieve the number of bytes that would be sent over the data connection during a transfer for the specified file. The value returned by the server will vary depending on the current STRU, MODE, and TYPE settings. The SIZE command is not a part of the official FTP standard but has been implemented by many popular FTP servers.
