Overview

Serv-U supports importing and exporting of user accounts to expedite the process of user provisioning in large-scale deployments. In these cases, it can be very helpful to work with a program like Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice / LibreOffice Calc. Users who make use of the Calc program to work with the CSV file must be aware that they must disable the Merge Delimiters option in order to correctly import and export users, or the CSV file will be incorrectly formatted.

Environment

Serv-U version 12.x.x up to 15.1.6

Steps

Exporting User

  1. Open Serv-U management console.
  2. Go to either Global or Domain level.
  3. Go to Users menu and then click Export.
  4. Choose where you want to save the file.
  5. At the bottom part, type the filename.csv.
  6. Select your preferred output when exporting (Yes - to export all users in this domain/server or No - to export users in this user collection only).
  7. Once done, close the export menu.

Importing User

  1. Open Serv-U management console.
  2. Go to either Global or Domain level.
  3. Go to Users menu and then click Import.
  4. Browse the CSV file.

Notes: In the exported CSV file, the value of states in DirAccess Maxsize is bytes ex. 5242880000 = 5GB
