Error: Home directory does not exist

Overview

This article describes the issue when you receive the Home directory does not exist error message.

All Serv-U versions

Resolution

 

When configuring Serv-U as a system service on a system running Windows XP/Server 2003 or newer operating systems, the Serv-U service runs under the Local System account by default. Because the Local System account has no network privileges, it prevents Serv-U from accessing home directories located in UNC paths and generates the Home directory does not exist error. To resolve this issue, see the following link:

Note: When testing Serv-U, SolarWinds recommend using the FTP Voyager because of its logging capabilities.
