Updated May 5, 2017

Overview

This article provides information on 534 FTP response code.

Environment

All Serv-U versions

Detail

A 534 response code can be issued in response to any command that the server is unwilling to process due to its security policy. It is a permanent negative response, which means the client is discouraged from sending the command again since the server will respond with the same response code. It usually means that the server requires a certain level of security to exist on the connection before processing the command or that it is unwilling to process a command that would provide for decreased security.

Example response

534 Request denied for policy reasons.
