Update Management Task status to remove Java displays partial success


The Update Management Task to remove Java from Patch Manager shows a Partial Success status.


All Patch Manager versions


  1. In the navigation menu, expand Enterprise and Managed Computers.

    You can also perform this through WSUS Computers and Groups.

  2. Locate a workstation or server with a Java version that needs to be removed. 
  3. Right-click the workstation and select Computer Explorer.
  4. On the Installed Software Tab, select the version or versions of Java that needs to be removed.
  5. Click Uninstall Software. 

    You can select multiple versions. Verify that the workstations and servers included in the task have the exact versions of Java. Otherwise, Patch Manager generates an error.

  6. Verify that you are removing the correct Java version, and then click Uninstall.
  7. Add all workstations and servers to the list with the same version of Java to be removed.
  8. Run the task and click Finish.

    You can schedule the task to run at a later date.
