Unable to connect to Patch Manager server via remote console.

All Patch Manager versions

Connection failure to Patch Manager server via remote console could be due to one of the following reasons:

  • EminentWare Data Grid Server (EWDGS) service is not responding.
  • Patch Manager is not connected to the default connection port 4092.

Determine if your EWDGS is working. You have two options, Option 1 or Option 2:
Option 1.

  1. Click Start > Run, type CMD and use the command lines:
net stop ewdgs / net start ewdgs

Option 2. Launch the Service Control Manager (SCM) and restart EWDGS:

  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Server Manager > Services.
  2. Select the EWDGS service.
  3. Press Stop/Start on the EWDGS service.

Determine if Patch Manager is connected to 4092.

  1. Go to Patch Manager Console > Patch Manager System Configuration > Application Servers > Actions > Patch Manager Server Wizard > Edit an Existing Patch Manager Server's configuration settings.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Select Managed Enterprise Group.
  4. Verify if the TCP/IP port configured is 4092. If not, change it to this value.
