Overview

The following error is received related to Domain NT-Flat Name:

 

The scope resolution task failed to execute.Exception occurred at 1xxxx: Unable to connect to Active Directory (ADNAME). No Domain Controllers responded to the request. Unable to connect to the resource using the account: account Reason: Unable to connect to Active Directory (ADNAME). No Domain Controllers responded to the request.

 

Environment

Patch Manager 2.1

Cause 

The Netbios name is different than the flat name identified in the Managed Resource.

Resolution

  1. Open the command prompt.
  2. Type WHOAMI and the NetBIOS name of your domain appears.
  3. Open the Patch Manager console and go to Patch Manager System Configuration > Management Groups > Managed Enterprise.
  4. In the Actions Pane, select the Management Group Wizard.
  5. Select Active Directory Domain or Workgroup.
  6. In the Name field, type in the NetBIOS name identified from the command, then type the FQDN.
  7. Click Resolve.
  8. Once the information has been entered,  click Add Domain/Workgroup and finish the wizard.
    Note: If you wish to remove the inaccurate entry, you can do so now by selecting it in the bottom half then click Remove. 
  9. Once you finish the wizard, re-configure your inventory by selecting the domain then right-Click Schedule Inventory.
  10. If the above steps do not help. Try Recreating the Inventory task.
