Third-party updates do not replicate to the downstream servers or the SCCM SUP

Overview

When you publish updates to the main upstream server, the updates do not replicate to the downstream servers or the Microsoft® System System Center Configuration Manager Software Update Point (SCCM SUP).

Environment

  • All Patch Manager versions
  • All WSUS versions

Cause

  • The trust relationship of the package
  • Duplicate WSUS certificates in the same store

Resolution

  1. Verify that you do not have duplicate WSUS certificates in the same store.

Duplicate certificates can cancel each other out. Multiple certificates are fine.

  2. Verify that the WSUS Self-Signed Certificate is installed on the downstream server in the Trusted Root CA and Trusted Publishers.

If the certificate is not installed on the downstream server, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to your WSUS server.
  2. Launch a new mmc.exe.
  3. Go to File > Add/Remove Snap-in and add the Certificates snap-in for the Computer account on the local machine.
  4. Go to the WSUS server and export the Self-Signed Certificate.

This is the certificate you want to Install in the Trusted Root CA and Trusted Publishers on the downstream server.
