The Update Management Task status to remove Java shows Partial Success

Overview

The Update Management Task to remove Java from Patch Manager shows a Partial Success status.

Environment

All Patch Manager versions

Resolution

  1. In the left pane of the SolarWinds Patch Manager console, expand Enterprise > Managed Computers.
    Note: You may also perform this through WSUS Computers and Groups.
  2. Locate a workstation or server that has an old version of Java that needs to be removed.
  3. Right-click the workstation and select Computer Explorer.
  4. On the Installed Software Tab, select the version or versions of Java that need to be removed.
  5. Click Uninstall Software. 
    Note: You can select multiple versions. Verify that the workstations and servers added to the task have the exact versions of Java. Otherwise, an error will occur.
  6. Verify that the version of Java listed are the correct versions to remove and click Uninstall.
  7. Add all workstations and servers to the list with the same version of Java to be removed.
  8. Run the task and click Finish.
    Note: You may schedule the task to run at a later date.
