Remove and replace the WSUS server in the Patch Manager Administrator Console

Overview

This article describes how to replace the WSUS server in the Patch Manager Administrator Console when the server is expired or decommissioned.

All Patch Manager versions 

Steps

Remove the WSUS server

  1. Log in to Patch Manager as an administrator. 
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Enterprise and select Update Services. 
  3. In the center pane, select the old WSUS server. 
  4. In the Actions menu, click Delete.  
  5. Click OK to purge the data. 

Add a WSUS server

  1. Log in to the Patch Manager Administrator Console as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Enterprise and select Update Services.
  3. Right-click Update Services. 
  4. Select Add and Configure Server.
  5. Add the IP or host name and click Resolve.
  6. Verify that the Port field value is correct.

    For servers running Microsoft® Windows Server® 2008, use the default port 80.

    For servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and later, use port 8530.

  7. Click OK.
