Overview

When you try to publish packages or access the WSUS server, you receive an invalid namespace error similar to the following:

Environment

  • All Patch Manager versions
  • All WSUS versions

Cause

The SolarWinds WMI provider is not installed correctly on the WSUS server.

Resolution

Manually install the WMI provider.

  1. On the Patch Manager Server, navigate to PatchManager Install Folder\Server\packages\EminentWare.
The installation folder generally located at C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server\packages\EminentWare
  2. Copy the wmiproviders_version_number.exe file to the WSUS server.
  3. Run the installer on the WSUS server.
