This article provides brief information on the following message when upgrading your Patch Manager:

Patchmanager includes a webconsole that integrates with Solarwinds Orion Platform....
....To install or upgrade PachManager webConsole, download the installer from....

Is this is a requirement for the Patch Manager Upgrade?

Patch Manager version 2.1

Note: Confirm if you are using Orion.

If you are using Orion, then you may find the Patch Manager web console integration with Orion to be a handy feature, as you can then check everything from the one console.

If you already have this web console installed and integrated with Orion previously (before your upgrade) then it would be best to also run the installer. This is to make sure that your Patch Manager and Orion integrated web console is also up to date.

If you are NOT using Orion, then you can ignore this message. It is not a required download to finish your upgrade. This is an additional feature that is available to our customers who also use Orion and want to have everything in the one web console. As you are not using the Orion Web Console, this is not a feature you need to install.
