Patch Manager keeps previous packages when a new package is pushed to clients

Overview

Patch Manager retains the old software package when a full package is pushed to your managed computers.  

Environment

All Patch Manager versions

Cause

This behavior is expected for Java, and may occur for other applications as well. 

An upgrade package includes the necessary scripts to upgrade from a defined existing version.
Some packages are full installations, while others are updates are upgrades. 

Resolution

Locate the latest package you need and install it on the managed computers.
