You receive a login failure error when trying to log into the Patch Manager Web Console.

All Patch Manager versions

The user receives this message whenever they try to login as a user who doesn't have access to the Web Console. If the user doesn't remember what their user name or password is, use the procedure in the Resolution section to try to log in with the default user name and password.

Try to log in with the default user name and password:

  1. Use the default User Name: Admin
  2. Leave the Password field blank.
  3. Change IIS authentication to disable windows authentication. Make sure digest authentication is enabled.
  4. If you are still unable to log in, the password has been changed in the past and will need to be entered correctly before you can proceed. Alternatively, Patch Manager will need to be reinstalled.
