When you generate a report, the SolarWinds Patch Manager Admin Console pulls the data directly from the database. The database size corresponds with the size of your environment.

To ensure optimal performance, SolarWinds recommends an external SQL Server database instance running one of the following versions:

  • SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2008 SP2, or 2008 SP3
  • SQL Server 2012, 2012 SP1, 2012 SP2, or 2012 SP3
  • SQL Server 2014 or 2014 SP1
  • SQL Server 2016

Server CPU requirements

The minimum CPU requirement is:

  • 1.0 GHz (32-bit x86 implementation)
  • 1.4 GHz (64-bit x64 implementation)

Microsoft recommends a 2.0 GHz CPU (minimum).

Server RAM requirements

The minimum RAM requirement is:

  • 512 RAM (SQL Server 2008 and 2012)
  • 1 GB RAM (SQL Server 2014 and 2016)
