Patch Manager Orion web interface cannot be installed on an Orion Additional Poller

Overview

When you run the Patch Manager 2.1.5 full SQL installer package on an Orion Platform server, the following message displays in the installer window: 

Patch Manager web interface cannot be installed on the top of Orion additional poller. 

As a result, the installed Orion Platform components fail to operate properly and you cannot install the Patch Manager Orion Web Interface on the server. 

Environment

  • Patch Manager 2.1.5
  • Orion Platform Web Console
  • SolarWinds NPM is not installed on the server

Cause 

Orion Platform components are installed on the server.

Resolution

Uninstall the Orion Platform components from the Orion Platform server. When completed, download and run the Patch Manager full package (with SQL) installer.

The following procedure integrates the Patch Manager Orion web interface with the Orion Platform Web Console. For more information, see Install the Patch Manager Web Console on an Orion server.

Do not perform the following procedure if SolarWinds NPM is installed on the server.

  1. Download the Patch Manager full package (with SQL) from the Customer Portal. 
  2. Log in to the Orion Platform server as an administrator.
  3. Access the Control Panel in the Microsoft Windows Server operating system.
  4. Open Programs and Features. 
  5. Uninstall all Orion Platform components. 
  6. Restart the server.
  7. Run the Patch Manager full package (with SQL) installer. 
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
