SolarWinds Patch Manager uses Inventory tasks to pull data from the WSUS servers and managed systems. This data is converted into information that displays in the SolarWinds Patch Manager Admin Console, Orion Web Console (for Orion integrations), and reports (such as a WSUS inventory report).

These reports are located in the Patch Manager Reporting menu.

SolarWinds Patch Manager includes several reports that provide information about the performance of the WSUS server. Below are some common reports you can run in your deployment.

Windows Server Update Services

The following reports provide information about update packages installed on managed systems by the WSUS server.

Report Name Description
Computers with approved
update percentages
Reports the percentage of systems running approved updates.
Percent Failed Reports the percentage of update packages that failed to install during the update.
Percent Installed Reports the percentage of update packages that installed during the update.
Percent Not Installed Reports the percentage of uninstalled update packages.
Update Approvals Reports the update title, computer group name, release date, and administrator for each approved update.

Windows Server Update Services Analytics

The following reports provide analytics about update packages installed on managed systems by the WSUS server.

Report Name Description
Computer Update Status Approved Updates Reports the approved upgrade packages and whether they are installed or not installed.
Computer Update Status Approved Updates Not Installed

Reports the approved upgrade packages that were not installed.
