A management group is a logical collection of domains, workgroups, and WSUS servers. Each management group resides on its own Patch Manager Management role server, so the inventory information for each management group has its own database.

When you install the Patch Manager PAS, which includes the Management server role, Patch Manager automatically creates the management group, Managed Enterprise. During configuration you specify what resources you want to manage with the Managed Resource Enterprise Configuration wizard.
