Filter column data

You can filter entries in a data grid by the values in one or more column headers. This process allows you to view specific data for a specific value. When you are finished, you can save your new layout or allow your previous layout to display when you return to this view.

Filtering by Specific Values

omplete the following procedure to filter the data grid for rows that contain specific values in a column.

To filter a view by a specific column entry in the data grid:

  1. In the navigation pane, select the view you want to customize (for example, Enterprise > Managed Computers).
  2. In the center pane, select a column header to filter. 
  3. Click File:Success_Center/New_Articles/PatchManager_Admin_Guide_MT/050/0D0/03000003.png and select the values you want to see in the grid.

    The filter icon changes to File:Success_Center/New_Articles/PatchManager_Admin_Guide_MT/050/0D0/03000004.png and the values display based on your filter selections.

  4. (Optional) Click Save View Layout in the Actions pane to save your layout.

Create custom filters

Complete the following procedure to create custom filters for the data grid view.

  1. In the navigation pane, select the view you want to customize.
  2. In the center pane, select a column header to filter.
  3. Click File:Success_Center/New_Articles/PatchManager_Admin_Guide_MT/050/0D0/03000003.png and select Custom.

  4. In the Custom Filter window, enter your custom filter as a search string.

  5. Click OK.
    The filter changes to File:Success_Center/New_Articles/PatchManager_Admin_Guide_MT/050/0D0/03000004.png and the values display based on your filter selections.
    To clear a filter, click File:Success_Center/New_Articles/PatchManager_Admin_Guide_MT/050/0D0/03000004.png and select Clear Filter in the Filter menu. 
  6. (Optional) Click Save View Layout in the Actions pane to save your layout.
