The Patch Manager Administrator Console is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 3.0-based snap-in that integrates with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)—an optional software component that you install in a supported Microsoft® Windows Server® operating system on a dedicated server. The console allows you to view, manage, and deploy Microsoft and third-party updates, and perform additional administrative functions.

This section provides information about the following Patch Manager Admin Console components:

You cannot perform all administrative functions using the Patch Manager Admin Console from within the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) console. However, all of the Patch Manager functionality is available in the stand-alone Patch Manager Admin Console.
