Password error displays in the Patch Manager Admin Console


The following error is received in the Patch Manager console:

Error: Unable to decrypt password. Please reset the password for credential 


All Patch Manager versions


The ME and the MP Registry keys were deleted, most likely to change the service password.


Update the password for each credential in Security and User Management. 

  1. Log in to the Patch Manager Admin Console.
  2. Expand Patch Manager System Configuration and select Security and User Management.
  3. In the Credentials tab, right-click a credential and select Change Password.
  4. Enter and confirm the new password, and click Save.
  5. Repeat step 4 for all remaining credentials.
