Old versions are retained when a patch is pushed to clients

This article provides brief information on retaining the old version of software when a full package is pushed to clients. This behavior is expected for Java. This may also happen for other applications. 

You may have approved an update to a test group, and it was deployed. Checking this you may see older and current versions installed. 


All Patch MAnager versions



An UPGRADE package has the necessary scripts included to upgrade from a defined existing version.
Some packages are FULL INSTALLATION and some are just UPDATES or UPGRADES.



Find the correct package which you need (if it is available) and install it (or them).
