Overview

This article describe the steps on how to delete old machine through the database manually so it does not show up in the patch manager report.

The old machine is not showing up in Patch Manager managed computers and WSUS server but machines still show in report Computer with Approved Update Percentage.

Environment

All versions of Patch Managers

Steps

1. Run the following Query:

Note: Please backup DB before doing changes in case you will need to restore data.

a. First query selects PCs from WSUS reports that is missing in patch manager managed PCs. And delete query (3rd query) clears this results, after running delete query the PCs must disappear from report.

b. The second query shows what is in Patch Manager and missing in WSUS, this PCs may be removed from Managed in Patch Manager Colsole, if you find it they have to be removed. This part described in https://support.solarwinds.com/Succe...count_exceeded

c. Third query (now commented) will delete all records from 'dt_wsus_computers' that don't have corresponding computers in managed PCs. good option can manually remove rows in SQL Management Studio if customer don't want to run delete query.

ACTUAL QUERY:

SELECT LOWER(fulldomainname) FROM_WSUS_fqdn_MISSING_IN_DEVICE
FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[dt_wsus_computers]
WHERE LOWER(fulldomainname) NOT IN(
SELECT LOWER(fqdn)
FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[device] )

SELECT LOWER(fqdn) FROM_DEVICE_fqdn_MISSING_IN_WSUS
FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[device]
WHERE LOWER(fqdn) NOT IN(
SELECT LOWER(fulldomainname)
FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[dt_wsus_computers])

/*
DELETE FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[dt_wsus_computers]
WHERE LOWER(fulldomainname) NOT IN(
SELECT LOWER(fqdn)
FROM [EminentWare].[dbo].[device] )
*/
