WebinarUpcoming Webinar: Know What’s Changed – with NEW Server Configuration Monitor

Change management in IT is critical. But, even with a good change management process, changes are too often not correctly tracked, if at all. The configuration of your servers and applications is a key factor in their performance, availability, and security. Many incidents can be tracked back to an authorized (and sometimes unauthorized) configuration change, whether to a system file, configuration file, or Windows® Registry entry. Join SolarWinds VP of product management Brandon Shopp to discover how the new SolarWinds® Server Configuration Monitor is designed to help you.

Overview

This article discusses an issue why you may receive a case on installation failure on Windows 10 machine console and installing updates.

Environment

  • Patch Manager 2.1.1.2005
  • Windows 10

Detail

There are clients who complete the installation process but the Configuration Wizard fails with little to no information at all. This is currently ongoing and known in development, and not necessarily an issue as we have not listed Windows 10 as a supported OS.

Currently the only limitation of Windows 10 is that the Admin Console is not supported to be installed on a Windows 10 machine.

If your Windows 10 machines can get updates from WSUS then they should be able to install updates with the PM.
