Updated June 6, 2016

Overview

After you upgrade your computer to Microsoft® Windows® 10 from an earlier version, you cannot deploy packages labeled Optional Updates.

Environment

  • All Patch Manager versions
  • All WSUS versions
  • Windows 10

Detail

When you upgrade to Windows 10 from an earlier version, deploying packages marked as "Optional Updates" is no longer ann option. When a computer is connected to the WSUS server using a Windows Update Agent (WUAgent), all approved updates display in a single list. The Optional tab does not apply to WSUS.
