Scheduled tasks fail in Patch Manager

The following error is recorded in the Patch Manager Task History: 

Exception Details

The scope resolution task failed to execute. Exception occurred at <date, time>. The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden. WSUSConnection: Unable to connect to the WSUS Server (server name) using the account (account name). The request failed with HTTP status 403: Forbidden.



All Patch Manager versions


Corrupted tasks in Administration and Reporting > Scheduled Tasks.


Delete and recreate the corrupted tasks.

  1. Log in to Patch Manager as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Administration and Reporting and select Scheduled Tasks. 
  3. Delete any tasks that fail with the following error:
    HTTP 403: Forbidden error
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.
  5. Run the new tasks.
