Remove unneccessary updates from the WSUS server

Overview

If you are experiencing problems with your drive consuming too much space on the WSUS server, you can use the Server Cleanup Wizard to get rid of unnecessary updates based on rules. This will free up space on your disk.

Environment

  • Patch Manager version 2.1
  • All WSUS versions

Steps

  1. Log in to Patch Manager as an administrator
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Enterprise > Update Services and select your WSUS server.
  3. In the Actions Pane, click Server Cleanup Wizard.
  4. In the WSUS Server Cleanup Options window, select your cleanup options, and click OK.

  5. In the Task Options Wizard, run the task now or create a schedule for the task.
  6. Complete the wizard.
