Patch manager update rules template

This article describes how to create a custom classification rule template and share it with other PM users who are in different locations.

1. You have created a customer update rule template using the update management wizard and saved the file in

C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server\Templates\configmgmt\MyCustomrule.urt (default location)

2. You want to share this template with other PM users in different location(s) who have Automation roles installed.

3. The file is copied to %AppData%\Local\SolarWinds\Templates\configmgmt\ for userA/UserB. However, the file is deleted when the PM console session is re-opened.

4. To permanently store the template file, copy it to C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server\Templates\configmgmt\MyCustomrule.urt location on the Automation server(s).
