Patch Manager antivirus exclusions


This article lists the Patch Manager antivirus exclusions.


All Patch Manager environments


The following antivirus exclusions apply for Patch Manager:

Microsoft Windows

For Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7:

  • c:\Inetpub\SolarWinds\
  • c:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\
  • c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SolarWinds\
  • c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\
  • c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\

Patch Manager server

..\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server\packages\publisher

Patch Manager Admin Console

Exclude a portion of the %AppData% folder. Cached copies of the binaries are downloaded in that folder before being transferred to the Patch Manager server.



Excluding the two database files:

  • eminentware.mdf
  • eminentware_log.ldf is also useful (as is the case for any MDF/LDF files).
