How to locate a specific computer in task history

This article describes how to search the scheduled task history in Patch Manager to identify which schedule is assigned to a specific system or machine.


  • All Patch Manager versions


  1. Open Notepad++ on your Patch Manager server.
  2. Press Ctrl+F to open the Find window.
  3. Click the Find in Files tab.
  4. In the Find what field, enter:
    system name
  5. In the Directory field, click the ellipsis and navigate to the Patch Manager scheduled tasks folder located at:
    C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server\scheduled
  6. Click Find All.
    Notepad++ searches through the scheduled XML file containing the task details and highlights the system name and file name.

You can reference the task ID (folder name), which should contain the task definition file.
