Duplicate user credentials in Patch Manager

Table of contents

Updated July 14, 2017

Overview

This article describes a limitation in Patch Manager regarding the use of duplicate user account names.

Environment

All Patch Manager versions

Detail

Duplicate user names for patching two sites that are not part of the domain are not supported in Patch Manager at this time, even if they have different passwords, such as the following:

Site 1:  user= .\administrator  password= SolarWindsRocks1

Site 2:  user= .\administrator password= SolarWindsRocks2

When a user is created in the database, it creates an entry and returns an error when a duplicate entry is created.
