Overview

Is there a backup procedure for the Patch Manager server?

Environment

  • Patch Manager 2.1

Detail

Currently we do NOT have a backup process for the Patch Manager server itself. It relies on the database, so as long as you are backing up SQL then you should be able to reconnect to the same database and instance.

You can take snapshots of the VM but only if you are using the local SQL Express. If you are hosting the SQL database on a remote server then backing up the database should be enough.

Note: You cannot reconnect to the database if you have moved the Patch Manager Server to another server or IP address.
