How to run a Patch Manager repair

Overview

This article describes how to run a Patch Manager repair. 

Environment

  • Patch 2.1.x

Steps

  1. Log into the Patch Manager server as an administrator. 
  2. In the Windows Server operating system, navigate to the Control Panel.
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. Select SolarWinds Patch Manager in the list.
  5. In the toolbar, click Repair.

  6. Run mmc.exe.
  7. Click File > Add Remove/Snap-in > Add Certificates.
  8. Select the computer account and click Next.
  9. Complete the dialog box, and click Finish.
  10. When prompted, click OK.
  11. Navigate to Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click Certificates.
  12. Delete EminentWare Server Certificate.
  13. Open the Registry Editor.
  14. Remove deviceID and CADeviceID from the registry:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\EminentWare\Data Grid Service
  15. Run SQL Management Studio and clear the records for Primary and Automation from the following:
    • dbo.gc_device
    • dbo.device
  16. Open a command prompt as an administrator. 
  17. Change directories to:
    C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Patch Manager\Server
    
  18. Run the following command:
    setuphelper.exe /provisionserver /type primary
  19. Go to Patch Manager System Configuration > Security and User Management.
  20. Select Credentials and click Change Password.
  21. Navigate to Patch Manager System Configuration and select Patch Manager Servers.
  22. Click Patch Manager Server Wizard and register the primary server.
