Error when installing a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) package

When you install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 8u112 update, the following error message displays on your screen:

Exception Details
Install failed. Fatal error during installation HResult: 0x80070643


All Patch Manager versions


Corrupt Java installer.


  1. Log in to Patch Manager as an administrator. 
  2. Delete the existing Java updates from the Patch Manager Console.
  3. Expand Administration and Reporting > Software Publishing and select Sun Packages.
  4. Select the Java Runtime Environment 8u112 package.
  5. In the Actions pane, click Publish Packages.
  6. In the Patch Manager Package Wizard, select the Java Runtime Environment package, and click Next. 
  7. Click OK in the Information dialog box. 
  8. In the Package Download Assistant window, click the link and navigate to the vendor website to accept the license agreement and download the package. 
  9. Complete the Patch Manager Package Wizard.
  10. Deploy the package using Update Management on the targeted systems.
  11. Open Task History and verify that the download and deployment was completed.
