WSUSConnection:: Unable to connect to the WSUS server (YOURWSUS) using the account: domain\username
The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not found.

Environment

Patch Manager 2.1+

Cause

Patch Manager is configured to communicate to the WSUS server using the wrong port.

Resolution

  1. Open the Patch Manager Admin Console.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Enterprise > Update Services and select the WSUS server.
  3. Click the Details tab.
  4. Under Server Information, verify that the Port value is correct.

If you are running Windows Server 2012, port 8530 (HTTP) is the default port.

If you are running Windows Server 2008 R2, port 80 (HTTP) is the default port.
