Overview

This article provides information regarding encryption methods used by Patch Manager to store credentials.

Detail

Patch Manger uses CMS/PKCS #7 methods to encrypt a user's password. It also involves EminentWare X509Certificate2.

The encrypted password is converted to base64 string and stored in the EminentWare database.

NPM / SAM encrypts WMI credentials with x509 Orion certificate

NCM encrypts SSH credentials with the x509 Orion Certificate
