This article provides information about the encryption methods used by Patch Manager to store user credentials.

Detail

Patch Manger uses CMS/PKCS #7 methods and the EminentWare X.509 Certificate 2 to encrypt a user password. The encrypted password is converted to a base64 string and stored in the EminentWare database.

NPM and SAM encrypts WMI credentials with an X.509 Orion certificate. NCM encrypts SSH credentials with an X.509 Orion certificate
