Download and import a Java update to Patch Manager

Overview

This article describes how to import the Java software download to Patch Manager.

Environment

  • All Versions of Patch Manager

Steps

  1. Log in to the Patch Manager Admin Console. 
  2. Expand Administration and Reporting > Software Publishing. 
  3. Select Sun Packages and locate the targeted version.
  4. Right click the targeted version.
    A dialog box displays, stating that the application does not have the direct download. 
  5. Click OK to continue. 
  6. In the center pane under Links, double click the link.
  7. Click the agreement for Java and start the download for x64 and x86.
  8. When the download is completed, click Import and select the appropriate Java download.
    A green checkmark displays, indicating you can publish the software to the WSUS server.
