Overview

The Database connection details view is not displayed when the account running the Configuration Wizard has sysadmin privileges to the Patch Manager database.

Environment

All versions of Patch Manager where the Configuration Wizard has previously successfully run.

Cause

You would have sysadmin privileges and the Database connection details view will not display if you have previously completed the Patch Manager configuration with the account running the Configuration Wizard.

Resolution

  1. Remove the sysadmin privileges from Patch Manager Database for the account running the Configuration Wizard:
  2. Run the Configuration Wizard again to allow for setting the Database Connection details.

Note: When doing this, permissions to the Database are needed on another account to grant the sysadmin privileges to the account to be used to connect.
