Create a Classifications Rule for the WSUS server

Overview

This article describes how to add a Classifications Rule to the Update Management Wizard. When completed, the rule inspects the update attributes and includes the update for download and installation if the attributes are matched. 

Environment

All Patch Manager versions

Steps

  1. Open the Patch Manager console.
  2. In the navigation pane, expand Enterprise and select Update Services.
  3. Right click on Update Services and select Update Management Wizard.
  4. Select an update management selection type. 
     For example: Download and Install all needed and approved security and critical updates).
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Add Rule and select Classifications Rule.
  7. Click the drop-down menu and select an option.
  8. Select an update option, and click OK. 
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Finish.
