Configure the subnet discovery task

Overview

This article describes how to configure the Patch Manager subnet discovery tasks. 

This task is used to collect the MAC addresses for devices that use the Wake On LAN feature. When completed, the task suppresses notifications regarding subnet configuration when you launch the Patch Manager Admin Console. 

Environment

Patch Manager version 2.1 and later

Steps

  1. In the Patch Manager menu, expand Patch Manager System Configuration > Management Groups and select Managed Enterprise.
  2. Select the Discovery Subnets tab.
  3. If you added subnets in this tab window, go to the next step.
    If you need to add subnets, perform the following steps:
    1. Click Add Subnet in the Actions pane.
    2. Click Browse and select a TCP/IP Subnet.
    3. Double-click each subnet you wish to add, and then click OK.
    4. Click Save.
  4. Select a subnet in the center pane, and then click Discover task in the Actions pane.
  5. Follow the prompts to schedule the tasks.
  6. Repeat step 4 and step 5 for each additional subnet.
