Table of contents

Updated August 25, 2016

Overview

Are WMI providers automatically deployed when added to WSUS?

Patch Manager does not know when you add a machine to WSUS.

Environment

All Patch Manager versions

Detail

The setting for Auto-provisioning WMI providers is under

Management Groups > [Your Management Group Name] > Settings tab >   "Automatically provision SolarWinds WMI Providers".
Turn off that default behavior of auto-deployment if you want
In that case you will likely be manually installing the Client Components/WMI Providers or you might publish the WMI Providers package and just Approve it in WSUS like you would any other 3rd party update.
