Approve updates in Patch Manager

Overview

This article describes how to approve Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) in the Patch Manager Console.

Environment

  • All Patch Manager versions
  • All WSUS versions

Steps

  1. Log in to Patch Manager as an administrator.
  2. Publish the update.
  3. In the Patch Manager menu, expand Enterprise > Update Services > Your WSUS > Updates > and select Third Party Updates.
  4. Select the Update.
  5. In the Actions Pane, select Approve

You can also use Update Management in the Actions Pane. Follow the prompts to install updates on your managed systems.

Additionally, you can use the Update Management Wizard to select a rule based on the update approval and choose the scenario that is best for you.
